In "Secret Samantha," what happens when Samantha goes to the mall with her mother to buy a gift for Blade?

Samantha is torn over what to get Blade, wanting to get the perfect gift. Her mother suggests a makeup kit and Samantha carries it around the store hoping to find something better. In the end, she cannot decide on anything else and her mother calls her to the checkout. While they are paying for the makeup kit, however, her mother gets a call from her boyfriend and leaves Samantha to check out on her own. Just at the last minute, Samantha spots a pair of black shoelaces with skulls on them and decides to buy them as well.
