Why does Ambrose believe the Cup has memories?

According to Ambrose, others who did not believe the Cup had memories, simply had never been with the Cup. Ambrose remembers the excitement the arrival of the Cup garnered around the world. The Cup and Ambrose had also survived many adventures together, including a snowstorm in Rhode Island. The two of them had traveled to so many wonderful, Cup-loving locations, and he wanted to continue doing it and making more memories with the Cup.
