What is the stupid thing that Fortney does?

Fortney goes to a bar where he assumes and hopes he will see Blaze. He cannot get her out of his head and wants to see her. Fortney begins to drink and continues to drink once he sees Blaze surrounded by sailors. When he gets no information out of Simon regarding Blaze’s relationship with him and Miles, he kicks Simon’s stool out from under him and sings drunkenly to Blaze, who does not even notice him, before walking out of the bar.
