How does Bryce learn about the condition of Juli's backyard?

Bruce's father told Bryce to ask Juli if she has a rooster. Bryce doesn't want to talk to her so he and his friend, Garrett, decide to look over the Baker's fence to see if there is a rooster. Bryce tells his parents they can eat the eggs but he won't get near them. The yard is a mess and there is excrement everywhere.
