Who is Bryant from Flash for Freedom! and what is their importance?

Bryant is an acquaintance of Flashy's in England. He is also responsible for Flashy's hasty exit of the country, after setting him up to make it look as if he was cheating at cards..... and receiving a bitter beating in exchange.
