Who is Deputy Lester from First Blood and what is their importance?

Deputy Lester enters the woods with Teasle to search for Rambo. He is among the deputies who panic when Rambo shoots the dogs. When the rain brings additional danger, he leads a group of three others back down the hill through a crevice that Rambo had previously attempted to block. When they arrive at the crevice, Rambo is waiting, and he kills all four.
