What is the main setting in the novel, Firefly Lane?

Snohomish, which is located in Washington State, is Kate’s hometown and where she meets Tully. When Tully first moves to Snohomish, she refers to it as a “hick backwater” (24). The geographical isolation of Tully and Kate’s neighborhood makes the girls feel isolated themselves. Surrounded by forest, the two find joy in each other’s company and in the natural world.
