How does the author use foreshadowing in Fifth Business?

Davies foreshadows the event which will change and drive the narrative of his life on page one, “My life long involvement with Mrs Dempster began at…” This of course will be that wayward snowball thrown at Dunstan but hitting Mary Dempster.
