Everyone is not intelligent in the book. While it is true they can retrieve information instantaneously, it is also clear that they think of very little but themselves. While they can spend their time looking up information, they certainly don't. The ability to look up information does not make a person smart, and their complete lack of ability without the feed shows them to be dumbed down by it.
