Describe Violet's father.

Violet's father is a professor at a local college, and he teaches dead and dying languages. Believing that language is dying, her father tries to speak in riddles, using difficult words so that no one can simplify what he is trying to say. His feed is an older model, which is strapped to the back. He is eccentric, but seems to love his daughter.
