Why does Jal take money from his account and go to visit Roxana?

Jal wants to give Roxana money to help her care for Nariman. Jal tells Roxana that he feels guilty living in seven comfortable rooms with Coomy when Roxana and her family are crowded into a two-room flat. He insists she keep the money when Roxana tries to give it back. Jal tells Roxana and Yezad that, if he had his way, they would come to live with him and Coomy where there is more room for all of them.
