What was the result of Nariman's visit from Dr. Tarapore at the beginning of Chapter 8?

Dr. Tarapore came to see Nariman and announced that his ankle was healing well. He removed some of the cast, but told Nariman that the remainder of the cast should stay on for at least another week. Nariman is scheduled to go back to the hospital in a week for another x-ray.
