What is "the other space" in the play, Fairview?

There is not an official setting or place called "the other space." It is a term coined for the purposes of this analysis to describe the area inhabited by the Act Two characters from which they watch the action of Act One, and offer commentary. It does not seem to have a specific sense of place, but it is essential to note that it is someplace different from both the Frasier family home and the audience in the theater.
