Captain is a police officer who controls the department out of which Janie and Cabel work as narcs. Captain gives Janie and Cabel their assignments and watches out for their safety. At the same time, Captain has become a friend and something of a parental figure to both Janie and Cabel. Captain helps Janie when she learns the truth about her gift and she also counsels Janie on her relationship with Cabel, gently trying to push them back together.
