Who is Timmy Hunter from Factotum and what is their importance?

Timmy Hunter is one of Chinaski's o;d friends from his college days. He picks up Henry when he is hitchhiking. As they have in college, they get too drunk to stand up, nap on the steps of a funeral parlor, and are arrested for causing the biggest traffic jam in Inglewood history.
