How does Madeline's mother respond to the email Madeline presents to her in “Protection"?

Madeline's mother responds initially with shock to the email. After a few moments, however, she reassures Madeline that the doctor is wrong, that she does have SCID, and that Madeline had only gotten her hopes up.
