Who is Mr. Silver from Every Soul a Star and what is their importance?

Mr. Silver is Jack's science teacher. He is also a famous eclipse chaser and tour guide, who invites Jack to Moon Shadow and ends up allowing him and the rest of Team Exo to use his equipment.
