How does Sierra become a member of Kyle and Akimi's team?

Kyle decides the windows below the Wonder Dome are the way to escape. Sierra suggests that he use a harness when he goes up there in the hover ladder. Because she suggests the idea and helps create the harness, Kyle makes her a part of the team.
