What effect do the elvish mushrooms have on Ella in Chapter 19?

In Chapter 19, Ella eats the elvish mushrooms and she quickly feels the effects - she feels an affection for her father which she has never had before, and she thinks that Edmund is a wonderful and handsome man. Ella admits that she is in love with Edmund and he later asks Sir Peter if he and Ella can marry.
