What is the story of Taha Aki?

Billy Black begins by telling the story of the last spirit chief, Taha Aki, who could leave his body likes his father before him in order to defend his people by manipulating the elements. Taha Aki sent away a warrior who wanted to become chief and change the peoples way of doing things. Angry, this warrior took over Taha Aki's body while he was in spirit form. The warrior took over the tribe as Taha Aki and made a great many changes that made the people miserable. Finally Taha Aki took the form of a wolf and was able to prove to his people that the warrior was not who he said he was. From that time on Taha Aki stopped leaving his physical form, but became one with the wolf and transformed into a wolf during times of trouble.
