How does Jacob respond when Bella tells him about the intruder?

Jacob calls the next morning, and Bella tells him what happened. Jacob insists on talking to Edward, and they both agree that they should all keep a closer eye on Bella. Jacob comes to Bella's house and takes in the scent of the intruder.
