What does Kate do when Adam tries to leave her brothel?

When Adam attempts to leave the brothel after hearing about her affair with Charles, Kate screams and the house pimp barges into the room and knocks Adam to the ground. Adam is able to crawl to the door and then walk out with no more words for Kate.
