Who are the Akmari in the novel, Earthborn?

The Akmari are an enslaved tribe of people held captive by the Pabulogi and the Elemaki. They are named after and led by Akmaro the high priest, who in the book stands as the noblest individual who is a recipient of the Keeper of Earth's original teachings.
