What is a reason Yunior believes he can't be a success (Drown)?

In the United States, Yunior lives in an area that is very like his home country. Drugs and poverty continue to be a part of his surroundings, and within this culture, he doesn't see how success is possible. In this regard, the United States is no different than the Dominican Republic.
