What does Knapp remember of the last months of her father's life?

The last months of Knapp's father's life were a complete blur. She only has images of sadness and horror: her father's last days of consciousness and the hate and tension that encircled the house due to her mother's rage. Knapp can remember crawling into bed with her father and hugging him. This was one of the only times she was able to embrace her father.
