Why didn't Jasla want Berem to chip away the gemstone?

Jasla didn't want Berem to chip away the gemstone because she had felt that the place they had approached was holy. She believes that the columns belonged to a temple that worshiped evil gods before the Cataclysm, and the fact that Berem was chipping away at the stone pillar that housed these gems made Jasla truly afraid for him.
