Why did the good dragons decide to break the Oath?

The good dragons decided to break the Oath they had promised when Silvara and Gilthanas had related the destruction of their children and the creation of draconians from their unborn larvae. Not only were their children being systematically destroyed, but they were being changed into draconians. Thus the good dragons broke their oath and came to the aid of the beings of Krynn.
