What did the cursed Tower of High Sorcery offer the city of Palanthas?

The cursed Tower of High Sorcery offered the city of Palanthas a contrast. The city itself rivaled even the elven cities, renowned for their incomparable grace and beauty. However, in the center of the city once stood a Tower of High Sorcery until it was cursed. Laurana thought it offered contrast to the city, and allowed a person who looked upon it to reflect again at how lovely the city really was, as Laurana herself had done.
