The last four days had been a harrowing experience for the five companions for several reasons. The first of these reasons was that due to the fact that they were fearful of their discovery in Flotsam by the draconians, they had hidden in the Inn and never seen the outside. Tanis' disappearance had them frightened and they couldn't even inquire as to what had happened to him, lest he or they be discovered.
