Who is Wirenth from Dragonquest and what is their importance?

Wirenth is a young, golden dragon queen. She is Brekke's dragon, and though they have a great rapport, he is unable to control her. Wirenth and Prideth battle during their heats and both dragon die as a result. Brekke sinks into a great depression after Wirenth's death.
