Who is Dr. Percival Nash from Dragon and what is their importance?

Dr. Percival Nash is Pitt's uncle, but more importantly, he was also a member of the scientists involved in the Manhattan Project.... the project that successfully developed the first atomic bomb. Nash assists his nephew in the investigation to discover how bombs are being smuggled into the United States.
