Who is James Bond from Doctor No and what is their importance?

James Bond works for the British Secret Service. He has just recovered from an illness that was a direct result of an altercation during a previous mission and is ready to return to work. However, his boss appears to have little confidence in Bond's ability to return to work so he sends him on an assignment that he introduces to Bond as a vacation in the sun. Bond is offended by this attitude. Bond is further offended when his boss forces him to give up his beloved Beretta and begin using two larger, more accurate guns. In order to keep piece, though, Bond goes along with his boss and agrees to both the guns and the assignment.
