Who is Oogruk from Dogsong?

Oogruk is one of elders and a founder of the village in which Russel lives. He is a traditional man, who does not embrace modern technology. He prefers the old way of doing things to the new. Oogruk is a shaman (holy man), who provides Russel with important advice and wisdom.
