One day when Amal attends one of the monthly Forum meetings at McCleans, Lara, the captain of the student body, announces an upcoming event. Lara says that in two months, the Debaters' Association of Victoria will be holding an interschool debate contest and that McCleans needs to figure out which students they will be sending.
