In Chapter 2, Amal makes a list of reasons she wants to wear the hijab on a full-time basis. Right after she has made the list, she reflects on how her decision will be received at school, and thinks about how her anxiety dream is the opposite of the usual one people have, about being naked in public. In her case, she says, she is "walking in fully covered and yet [she's] still breaking out in a sweat" (9) thinking about what it will be like.
