For what reason is Leila excluded from a great deal of Amal's sleepover in Chapter 16?

Amal explains to Adam in Chapter 15 the meditative effects she gets from fajr, her sessions of prayer, by using the metaphor of basketball. She has him imagine that he is playing basketball and then she guides him through certain movements, eventually getting him to see how the special zone he enters while playing basketball is similar to the one she enters when she prays at five particular times of each day.
