What is the author's style in Deep Six by Clive Cussler?

The language of the novel is simple English. Dirk Pitt, as well as his friends and enemies, are well-educated people; therefore, their speech is grammatically correct and occasionally filled with complicated language. However, the language is easy for the average reader to understand with much of the more complicated language explained within the dialogue or exposition.
