Simon Doyle, Death on the Nile, is the mastermind behind the entire murder(s). It is his idea, working with Jackie, to seduce Linnet and then kill her, making him the sole inheritor of the money. However, things go awry when a maid starts to blackmail them on the ship. Jackie kills her, then has to kill another person who has seen her go into the room. In the end, both Simon and Jackie end up dead.
