When was the Chinese Exclusion Act enacted and repealed? What did it decree?

The Chinese Exclusion Act was signed in 1882, prohibiting all immigration of Chinese laborers. It was the only act in U.S. history to exclude an entire ethnic group. It was not repealed until 1943.
