What is the setting of Dead Irish by John Lescroart?

The novel Dead Irish is set in and around modern San Francisco. Dismas Hardy had been a police officer in San Francisco, then an attorney, before leaving his former life behind and becoming a bartender at The Little Shamrock. The Shamrock is visited often, as Hardy works there, his best friend is the owner, and Hardy tends to spend time there in off hours, thinking over the facts in the Cochran case.
