Who is Ferdinand Karkes from David Boring and what is their importance?

Ferdinand Karkes is Wanda's professor. Ironically, the professor publishes an article about sexual deviants, which includes some of the pictures from David's scrapbook. In the end, we discover that Wanda gave Karkes the information about David and his scrapbook because she was having an affair with Karkes.
