Where does Ruth go after leaving the orphanage in the novel, Daughter of Moloka'i?

Ruth goes to live with the Watanabes in their home after she leaves the Home for Girls and before the family moves to California. She is surprised by some of the Japanese pieces in the home, but she is happy there. It is above Taizo’s business and there are room dividers separating some of the areas. She feels welcomed and has a good life here.
