Who is Miles from Dark Flame and what is their importance?

Miles is one of Ever's good friends in California. He travels to Venice and visits a small antique shop that Roman told him about, where he finds several painted portraits of Damen and Drina from centuries past. This causes Miles to wonder about Damen and his true history.
