Who is Grandfather Northridge from Dalva and what is their importance?

Grandfather Northridge is the descendant of the original Northridge of the family estate. He loves his family and has a special love for Dalva, who is the daughter of his lost son, Wesley. Grandfather dotes on Dalva, and he is heartbroken when he learns that she is in love with her unknown half brother. He does not judge her, however, but rather tries to make sure that she is cared for, loved, and strong. Grandfather leaves the family estate to Dalva.
