Why does Wesley think it is okay that Emma wants to leave home?

Wesley thinks it is okay that Emma wants to leave home because he sees it as him opening her up to new possibilities. He tells Ella that now Emma has to do something else since her charts are ruined, and it points Emma in an entirely new direction. He adds that one day Emma looks back and views the day her brother urinates on her charts as the day that changes her life.
