What happens to Gertrude at a church meeting at Msimangu’s mission? What does she do afterward?

Gertrude hears a woman with a questionable past discussing how she turned her life around by becoming a nun, and Gertrude is similarly inspired to contemplate the holy life. She speaks to Mrs. Lithebe about this aspiration, and Mrs. Lithebe encourages her to consider it seriously. Gertrude even asks the pregnant girl if she would be willing to take care of her son if Gertrude joined a convent.
