Whites are so excited about the prospect of new gold to mine they do not even pay attention to the Kumalo/Jarvis murder trial. They see it as an opportunity to get even wealthier and to secure South Africa’s place as a wealthy nation. Blacks, on the other hand, have no hope of sharing in the wealth the new gold mines will manifest. They will be used to mine the gold while continuing to be underpaid and underrepresented.
