What may happen to Clay at the end of Part Seven?

While it remains unclear exactly what happens to Clay, there are several possibilities. The children leave him tied up and wounded, with a rattlesnake nearby ready to strike. However, it is unclear if all of these instances come together to cause his demise, or if he is able to escape unscathed.
