Lalami says that Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffet are wealthier that 160 million Americans. With this level of wealth, Lalami says they have access to a greater freedom of expression, more power to influence elections, [and] more opportunity to run for public office than millions of the poorest Americans” (135).
