Who is Elfine Starkadder from Cold Comfort Farm and what is their importance?

Elfine Starkadder is Judith and Amos' daughter. She is tall, blue-eyed, feminine, and she loves poetry..... she's also secretly in love with Richard Hawk-Monitor. Unfortunately, Richard doesn't know Elfine is alive.... at least until Flora takes her under her wing and helps Elfine make a complete transformation.
